12 Days colourful Rajasthan Tour

Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Delhi By Flight: TBA

Arrive at New Delhi International airport. Please clear immigration and visa formalities, collect your baggage and proceed to the arrival lounge through the green channel if you do not have goods to be declared to customs. Castle and King India executive will wait at the arrival with a placard in your name to greet you. Thereafter you will be assisted with a transfer to hotel.
Delhi, Capital for many ancient and medieval Empires. The city of Delhi was built on the banks of the Yamuna River and the history of Delhi dates back more than 3000 years. Indraprastha according to legends was the old Capital of Delhi and founded by the Pandavas in the times of the Mahabharata 1500 B.C. and was located near the Old Fort. Today the city is a unique blend of Old and New which is very evident in the two parts – Old Delhi and New Delhi, the latter mainly built by the British.

Day 02: Delhi

After breakfast proceed for the sightseeing of Old and New Delhi.
Proceed to visit Old Delhi – A sightseeing tour of Old Delhi would entail visiting the; Jama Masjid – the largest mosque in India and the Red Fort – once the most opulent fort and palace of the Mughal Empire. Cycle rickshaw ride from Jama Masjid to Chandni Chowk.
Later visit New Delhi – An extensive sightseeing tour of New Delhi would include a visit to the Humayun’s Tomb, a drive along the ceremonial avenue – Raj path, past the imposing India Gate, Parliament House, and the President’s Residence and would end with a drive through the Diplomatic Enclave.
Overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 03: Delhi – Agra By Surface: 220 Kms, 3 – 4 Hrs

After breakfast at the hotel transfer to Agra. Reach and check into hotel. Agra:- Two great Mughal monarchs, Akbar and Shah Jahan, transformed the little village of Agra into a befitting second capital of the Mughal Empire – giving it the name Dar-ul-Khilafat {seat of the Emperor}. Today a visitor to Agra is caught up in a world of contrasting edifices, of red sandstone and white marble, narrow galleys and quaint buggies. This city still retains that inescapable charm of the Mughals. It is found without any exception that the modern Agra still boasts of its Mughal heritage most conspicuously. A leisurely stroll down the narrow bustling streets of the city will acquaint you with the wafting aroma of Mughlai cuisine.
Afternoon proceed to visit Agra fort and Itmadullah’s Tomb.
AGRA FORT – Built by the famed Mughal emperor Akbar in 1565 AD, the fort is predominantly of red sandstone. Ensconced within is the picture perfect Pearl Mosque, which is a major tourist attraction. Visit Itmadullah’s Tomb built by Empress NOOR JEHAN in memory of her father (The interiors of which are considered better than the Taj).

Day 04: Agra – Fatehpur Sikri – Jaipur By Surface: 265 Kms 5 hrs

Morning proceed to visit Taj Mahal, perhaps one of the best time to visit Taj Mahal.
TAJ MAHAL (closed on Fridays): Little needs to be said about this architectural wonder which is always the soul raison-de-etre for every tourist’s visit to Agra. Built by Shah Jahan, the Taj is a white marble memorial to his beautiful wife Mumtaz Mahal. This monument took 22 years to be completed and was designed, and planned by Persian architect Ustad Isa. Apart from it’s stunning design balance and perfect symmetry, the Taj is also noted particularly for its elegant domes, intricately carved screens and some of the best inlay work ever seen.
After visiting transfer to Jaipur, Enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri. Fatehpur Sikri. The deserted, red Sandstone City, Emperor Akbar built that as his capital and palace in the late 16th century is an exhilarating experience. It a veritable fairytale city and its “ruins” are in pristine condition … it’s not hard to imagine what the court life must have been like in the days of its grandeur. Also visit the Bulund Darwaza, the largest gateway in the world. After visiting continue to Agra, reach and check into hotel. Reach Jaipur and check into hotel.
Jaipur:- The origins of the beautiful city of Jaipur can be traced back to the eighteenth century, during the reign of Jai Singh II who ascended the Amber throne in 1699. Jaipur today, epitomizes the spirit of Rajputana. In-spite of growing into a bustling metropolis, it still retains its character and history – A beautiful fusion of the yesteryears and modernity. Popularly known as the Pink City because of the extensive use of the locally abundant pink plastered stone, painted so in honor of the visit of the royal consort of Queen Victoria. Jaipur thrills the soul with its massive forts, magnificent palaces, exquisite temples, and lush gardens.
Evening Free day for Shopping. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

Day 05: Jaipur

After relaxed breakfast proceed to visit Pink City Jaipur. Amber Fort Palace:- Amber is the classic romantic Rajasthani fort palace. Its construction was started by Man Singh I in 1592, and completed by his descendent Jai Singh I. Its forbidding exterior belies an inner paradise where a beautiful fusion of Mughal and Hindu styles finds its ultimate expression. Jeep to access Amer Fort.
City Palace: – A delightful blend of Mughal and traditional Rajasthani architecture, the City Palace sprawls over one-seventh of the area in the walled city. It houses the Chandra Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple and the City Palace Museum. Jantar Mantar: – This is the largest and the best preserved of the five observatories built by Jai Singh II in different parts of the country. This observatory consisting of outsized astronomical instruments is still in use. Hawa Mahal:- The ornamental facade of this “Palace of Winds” is a prominent landmark in Jaipur. Their five-storey structures of sandstone plastered pink encrusted with fine trelliswork and elaborate balconies. The palace has 953 niches and windows. Built in 1799 by Pratap Singh, the Mahal was a royal grandstand for the palace women.
Afternoon proceed to visit Jantar Mantar: – This is the largest and the best preserved of the five observatories built by Jai Singh II in different parts of the country. Day 06: Jaipur

After breakfast our drive will take you to the Bagru a small village for the Hand block printing work shop and spend some time with them and learn the art.
In the afternoon drive back to the Hotel and relax.
After relaxed a bit proceed to explore the Jaipur old city and market and enjoy the Jaipur atmosphere.
Late in the evening if you have time I will invite you at my home where you can learn the cooking class and have dinner with us madam.

Day 07: Jaipur – Pushkar: By Surface: 180 Km 3 Hrs

After breakfast drive to Pushkar, reach and transfer to the Hotel and relax.
started mainly as a cattle trade fair, where people brought their cattle, Camels, and Horses for trading in the market. About a Century-Old, Pushkar fair has developed from a cattle trade fair to a grand spectacle of vibrant colors and cultural heritage of Rajasthan. Pushkar Mela is organized in the holy city of Pushkar which starts from the month of Kartik (acc. to Hindu Lunar Calendar) and ends at Holy Kartik Purnima. This Fair begins in between October and November. Pushkar festival Mela is one of the main tourist attraction for international tourists to visit the state of Rajasthan during this season.

Day 08: Pushkar – Udaipur By Surface: 230 Km 4 Hrs

After breakfast drive to Udaipur. Reach and transfer to the Hotel.
Udaipur: – The city of Dawn, Udaipur is a lovely land around the azure lake, hemmed in by the lush hills of the ARAVALLIS. A vision in white drenched in romance and beauty, Udaipur is a fascinating blend of sights, sound and experiences and inspiration for the imagination of poets, painters and writers. Udaipur is the jewel of MEWAR -a kingdom ruled by the Sisodia dynasty for 1200 Years. Relax in the evening.

Day 09: Udaipur

After breakfast proceed for guided sightseeing tour and visit City Palace, Jagdish Temple, Museum, Jag Mandir and Saheliyon-Ki-Bari. We also visit the Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandir which is an Indian folk arts museum and has interesting exhibits that include folks dresses, ornaments, puppets, masks, dolls, folks musical instruments, folk deities and paintings followed by a visit too Jag Mandir, a temple dedicated to Lord Jagdish.
Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola, an artificial fresh water lake, created in the year 1362 AD, named after the nearby Picholi village. It is one of the several contiguous lakes, and developed over the last few centuries in and around the famous Udaipur city. The lakes around Udaipur were primarily created by building dams to meet the drinking water and irrigation needs of the city and its neighborhood. Two islands, Jag Niwas and Jag Mandir are located within Pichola Lake, and have been developed with several palaces to provide views of the lake. Conclude your day with a fantastic cultural show at the Bagore-ki-Haveli you might even get up and join in the dancing.

Day 10: Udaipur – Ranakpur Temple – Jodhpur By Surface: 285 Kms, 5 Hrs

After breakfast at the hotel transfer to Jodhpur. Enroute visit Ranakpur Temples. Ranakpur Temples dating back 15 century. 200 pillars, none of which are alike, support its 29 halls. The temple abounds with intricate friezes and sculptures. Included visits to two more Jain temple and the temple of the Sun God with its erotic sculptures.
After visiting continue to Jodhpur. Reach and check into hotel.
Bustling desert city the second largest city in Rajasthan and has landscape dominated by the massive Mehrangarh Fort topping a sheer rocky ridge. Rao Jodha, a chief of the Rathore clan, founded the city in the year 1459 and it is named after him. It was formerly the seat of a Princely state, also known as Marwar. Arrive Jodhpur and check in at hotel.
Afternoon free to visit the local markets or relax at the hotel. Overnight stay in Jodhpur.

Day 11: Jodhpur

Morning proceed for Jeep safari into Bishnoi Village to experience the rural life. Later proceed for Jodhpur sightseeing, visiting the Mehrangarh Fort (Majestic Fort), one of the most impressive and formidable structures anywhere in India. Built by Rao Jodha, this 5km long Fort is on a 125m high hill and has some magnificent palaces with marvellously carved panel’s latticed window. The Fort Museum houses an exquisite collection of palanquins, howdahs (Elephant saddles), royal cradles, miniatures paintings, musical instruments, costumes and furniture. Also visit Jaswant Thada, a cluster of royal cenotaphs in white marble built in the year 1899 AD in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Within the main cenotaph are the portraits of various Jodhpur rulers. It is an architectural landmark of Jodhpur.

Day 12: Jodhpur – Jaisalmer By Surface: 285 Kms, 5 Hrs

After a relaxed breakfast transfer to Jaisalmer upon arrival transfer to hotel.
Jaisalmer, located deep in the heart of the desert and popular for its century’s forts, palaces, havelis and amber-hued houses. During your journey you catch a glimpse of the splendour and magnificence of this ancient desert city built on the edge of the Thar Desert. At its best, it is a doorway to the wonderland of sand dunes and shrubs, rocky terrain and thorny trees.
Overnight stay in Jaisalmer.

Day 13: Jaisalmer

Start exploring the city with visit to with the only living fort in the world, Jaisalmer. Take a stroll in the narrow streets of the Golden city and get a glimpse of the life style of the locals. Every house is exquisitely carved having filigreed work all over. Visit the Jain Temple followed by visit to the beautifully carved Nathmalji Ki Haveli. Return to the hotel for a brief rest. Early evening proceed to enjoy camel ride on its exotic sand dunes, offering an unforgettable experience of rich cultural heritage. En-route stop at Kuldhara – the abandoned village now believed to be haunted, it is said that it is impossible for anyone to spend even one night there. It was the largest of 84 villages belonging to Paliwal Brahmins, all of which were abandoned on a single night in 1825. Continue to the desert, where you will enjoy the camel ride amongst the breath-taking sight of Sun descending with a peculiar glow and as ascending night bringing stupendous views of sunset and the fort.
Late in the afternoon drive to the camp, where you will stay overnight. After relax a bit your camel would wait at the Camp gate and take you to the sand dunes, which approximately take 30 to 40 Minute ride.
Late in the evening ride back to the Hotel with jeep or camel. Have dinner and stay at the camp. Overnight at Camp.

Day 14 Jaisalmer – Delhi By Flight: SG-478, Dep: 1035, Arr: 1200 Hrs

Morning after relaxed breakfast transfer to Jaisalmer airport to board flight for Delhi, reach Delhi and transfer to hotel.
Overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 15: Delhi – Home

Breakfast at the hotel. Later proceed to visit Qutab Minar, Lotus Temple. Later as per your flight schedule transfer to New Delhi International airport to board flight for hometown with sweet memories of India Tour. Please allow a minimum of 2 ½ hours for flight check-in formalities at the airport.
